For those of you that know me, you already know how easily I become obsessed with things…I thought I’d try to add my first “feature” and once or twice a month do a post about what I’m crushing on at the time!
Soooo, if you follow me on Facebook (and if you don’t…then do it…right now!) you already know about the first one, which is powdered peanut butter. It’s called PB2 made by Bell Plantation and it’s amazing. I eat it every day. It’s all natural, gluten free, and has 85% LESS fat than regular peanut butter! Aaaaaamazing…it really is…it can be reconstituted by adding water (or almond milk if you’d want it thicker). I have yet to try doing this because I enjoy it so much as powder…but would be curious to know how it is if anyone else has tried doing so.
I add it to protein shakes and also eat it every night before bed in my Casein Pudding, although I will probably stop when I begin the carb cycling phase of Livefit Trainer. I know some supermarket chains are starting to carry it, but I ordered mine on Amazon.
Next…avocados. I always thought I hated these guys…I don’t know if I never really gave them a fair shot or what but I’m in love. I’ve been eating a half of one almost every day for a while now. I especially love them in salads (it takes the place of dressing, I think) and in my shredded chicken and salsa (which I’d love to post in my recipes page if I ever made one, but it is on the MMI FB page). They get a bad rap because they are fattening; however, they are really healthy since they are high in monounsaturated fat, the good kind, and can actually help lower cholesterol!
And lastly is Ideal Brown. This is a no calorie brown sugar substitute made with Xylitol, which is one of the only two sweeteners that I use now. I LOVE it…you can swap it cup for cup for packed brown sugar and it tastes great. I have been using it in my Overnight Oatmeal (recipe is on the MMI FB page), a cup of clean coffee cake that I made the other night for a rare treat (will post recipe when I can), and I may or may not have eaten a tiny spoonful here or there lately to satisfy this strange craving for sweets I’ve had the past few days. I also purchased this on Amazon (seriously, what would I do without Amazon).
So just a few ideas, give them a shot if you want and let me know what you think!
Thanks for reading,
k
