LiveFit Trainer: Before/After Pics, Final Thoughts & Results

Okay, I promise, this will be my last post about the LiveFit Trainer.  I know I’m constantly blabbing about it but I just can’t help it.  It’s been one of my major focuses for the last 3 months.  I finished the program this weekend and just wanted to share all my thoughts with you.  I put most of this on the My Mission Impossible FB page yesterday but I know some people read this that are not on FB so I thought I’d shove it down everyone’s throat share it here as well.  For those of you that know me, you know why this is such an accomplishment for me.  I was ALWAYS making excuse after excuse to not workout or eat right yet ALWAYS complaining about the way I looked.  This program was challenging and really forced me to change almost every part of my life to be successful in it: the way I ate, the time I woke up, the time I went to bed, the time I spent with my family, the time I spent socially, the amount of alcohol I consumed and the way I spent the tiny bit of free time I had.  For me it was a sacrifice, but one that was well worth it!

Here are my before and after pics, dated accordingly.  I wanted to take them at the beginning, end of P1, end of P2, and end of P3, but I kept forgetting so they are a little random.  Please excuse my awful faces…I couldn’t stop laughing for the life of me.  I wish I would have flexed in the first set so you could get a better point of reference of where I began, not sure why I didn’t think of that.  I also wanted to take them all in the same bathing suit, but I couldn’t find the black one at the moment, and nope, didn’t get a tan, just different lighting.

I was very unsure as to whether I wanted to post these or not, but now I’m glad that I did. I worked my butt off and I want to show other people that just a few short months can make a difference!

That being said, my transformation is not as dramatic as a lot of other’s I’ve seen from LiveFit and I have three theories as to why that may be:

1) I did the ENTIRE 12 weeks at home, not at a gym. I used free weights, dumbbells and bands. For the last 4 weeks I had a machine that allowed me to do lat pulldowns and leg extensions, nothing else. And for the last two weeks, I had a lot more equipment at home; however the workouts did not really require me to use much of it. My point is that although this is meant to be done in a gym, it is possible to complete at home.

2)  As much as I hate to admit it, I slacked a bunch on the cardio and HIIT, I just couldn’t get enough time to fit in hour and a half workouts 6 days a week.
3) I did not do the carb cycling. This was just a personal preference. I did the Trainer only to improve my health and fitness, not to lead towards competing or doing any kind of photoshoot and just did not feel it was necessary.
I did not lose much weight, probably only about 2 lbs., however, I was not trying to lose weight.  My goal was to lose fat and put on lean muscle, which I know that I did succeed (to some degree) because my clothes do not fit me the same; however, my measurements didn’t change too much either.

I think I’m going to post these pics on Jamie Eason’s wall as well, I just haven’t worked up enough courage yet. I have 150 followers, she has 175,000! For me, looking at pictures is incredibly motivating and I’d like to show other people that you can take advantage of this program even if you can’t get to a gym, so hopefully I’ll decide to do that soon.

I loved this program. Every second of it, even when I hated it! I’m so thankful to Jamie Eason and Bodybuilding.com for making it available. Although having been through it I think it would be worth if it it cost money but since it’s free…what have you got to lose? I urge everyone to give it a shot! It may sound dramatic but it really did change my life. It taught me so much about nutrition, fitness, weightlifting, and my body in general!
I’m obviously no expert, but if anyone has any questions about the program, I’ll do my best to answer them.  I wanted to add the link again in this post since a lot of you have been asking me what I’ve been doing and where you can find it.  The program is called Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer.  It’s found on Bodybuilding.com (one of my fav websites) and is 100% FREE!  That’s what’s so cool about it there’s no risk.  Trust me, it’s worth it.  You can find it here if you want to check it out.
Thanks for following this journey with me, hope you’ll stick around!

To know you did this at home really gives me a much needed confidence boost! I’ve wanted to do this but not having the time to spend in the gym was my excuse and now you’ve taken that away…darn it! LOL! Thank you for sharing your journey, it is truly inspiring. :)

You look great! I did the program at home too, and also slacked on some of the HIIT and cardio. It’s just such a time consuming program, but it is pretty great!

These are great results! I’m in the middle of livefit right now. Is it better to skip cardio or weights if you don’t have the time? I can squeeze in weights usually (at least half of them) but cardio eludes me. I’m hoping I’m not stunting progress. I just hate cardio.

Hi AJ, you are? Awesome! I personally took the approach that if I had to skip something for some reason, I skipped the cardio. As long as you are taking only 30-60 second breaks in between your sets, you should still be keeping your heart rate at a decent level. Also weightlifting still burns a lot of calories, plus the afterburn is long! I think it also depends on your fitness goals, if you looking to drop weight or really lean out then you may want to really try and get to that cardio. Hope that helps and hope you’re enjoying LiveFit…keep me posted, sorry for the delay in responding!

OMG your after pics are fantastic!!! If this is an example of a less “dramatic” transformation than others on this program, then you have proved just how effective this program is for everyone! I was considering trying Body For Life again instead, but you have convinced me to do Live Fit. I’ll be doing my workouts from home too, so I’m glad you proved that excellent results can be achieved by doing this program at home. You should be very, very proud of yourself!

    Hi Kristin,

I am on Phase 1, Day 5 of Livefit and I have two questions. How long did it take before you started to see results? Also, how did you handle the amount of food that has to be consumed? I am trying to follow the plan to a tee, but it’s really difficult to eat so much. Thanks!

Hi Tina! It’s been a while now, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t start seeing actual “results” until Phase 2, so don’t get discouraged! Ugh, the food! Don’t worry about it…do the very best you can…eat as much as you can to fuel your body adequately…if you can’t finish something, don’t make yourself sick. As the workouts get harder and longer, you’ll probably notice yourself eating more anyway since you’ll be burning so much! Hope that helps :)

        Thanks Kristin.

I am looking forward to getting to that stage. The food is my biggest challenge right now. :)

Were you able to maintain the healthy diet and exercise that the plan follows? I’m just curious. Your pictures are fantastic!!

Wow this is awesome results! I’m so glad I found your blog. I actually started Livefit TODAY and it’s going good so far. I’m afraid I’ll get bored of the food :/ What are some great ways to sauté chicken? I think that is going to be a struggle for me! Would you mind sharing some of your favorite meals?!

Also, today it only took me about 25 minutes to finish the arm workout. I felt like I should’ve done some more. Did you feel that way at times? I have a Polar watch and it said I only burned about 70 calories on my arm workout. Will I still be getting in shape even though I’m not losing many calories?

Sorry I have so many questions. Thank you for taking the time to share so much on your blog. You’re an inspiration!
