Coconut Secret Giveaway Winner & #funfinds

TGIF!!!!  Hope everyone is having a great day!  I wanted to announce the winner of my Coconut Secret Giveaway…it’s Taylormade!  Congratulations and please email me your mailing address to kristin@mymissionimpossible.com as soon as possible so I can get your products out to you…you’re going to love them…I promise!  Thanks so much to everyone that entered the giveaway and don’t worry…I never win anything either :)

I wanted to give you a sneak peak of some things I’ll be up to this weekend, or plan to anyway!  I went on a superfast mini shopping spree last night while my husband took the kids to soccer practice, think Supermarket Sweep, who remembers that show?  If only those producers would find me and drop in the middle of Whole Foods!  Win or lose, I’d love them forever.  I hit up Bed Bath & Beyond for a few things, we needed a blender (I just got a cheap crappy one) and for some coffee that my husband wanted.  They were out of it…the shelves were practical bare…what’s up with that?

Feeling inspired by Katie’s donuts she posted a few days ago, I was also in search of a doughnut pan…found it!!  I can’t try her recipe because I don’t have a Trader Joe’s near me, story of my life.  But that’s okay beacause I’ve been wanting to make my own for a while now.  I have a plan to deceive my children to the best of my abilities   All kinds of shizz are going in these bad boys.  But first and foremost we’ll be making some sweet pumpkin rosquillas (I don’t really know that word, just stole it from the pic, it sounded way cooler) tonight!  If all goes well, I hope to have a good recipe to you soon.

Next I was off to the stupermarket!  That’s how I refer to the grocery store around here because they all suck.  My town clearly does not support people eating healthy.  Get it? Stupid supermarket=stupermarket, clever huh?  I was going for a “Brangelina” type feel there.  Anyway, I picked up some beautiful phallic shaped crayola popsicle molds.  I really just think all popsicles should be circular or some other shape that wouldn’t make me cringe when I saw people eating them.  I can’t help it, I just can’t seem to grow up.  So, we are going to make our own popsicles also using some of the purees I made for the kids last week…again, if they don’t suck then I’ll share!

As if that wasn’t enough we’ll be taking a stab at making our own applesauce as well with these (huge) beautiful apples my boss’ wife gave me!  I have a bunch of different recipes so not sure which one we’ll actually try….wish me luck!

Somehow in addition to all this I need to get two kids to two soccer games (without B’s help) tomorrow morning, fit a workout (and hopefully cardio as well) in tomorrow afternoon, join the girls for a night out tomorrow evening, clean my house…it’s soo gross, and I haven’t even begun to think about food prep!!!  Okay, now I’m freaking out a little bit….weekends are just not long enough.

I hope everyone has a great one!  I’ll leave you with this little gem that I posted on Instagram this week…just another example of my extreme lack of maturity.  But really….

This was my first grader’s reading homework. Now…pathetic…I know, but how the hell do I keep a straight face when my 7 years old is reading this aloud?

I’m doing to keep sharing these fun finds and hashtag them #funfinds on Instagram.  I’ve been doing it on IG for weeks now every time I go grocery shopping and have been getting some good feedback.  [I was calling it #groceryhaul, but I don't like that name]  I just get so excited when I find cool stuff (my stores suck, remember?) that I love to share it.  If you have any “fun finds” of your own you’d like to share just hashtag them #funfinds and tag me @mymissionimpossible so I can start searching for them!!  Uh oh, this could be dangerous for my wallet…when I can’t find something I get a little obsessed!  Let’s not tell my husband about this :)

I’m totally going to #funfinds after I go grocery shopping tomorrow! Is it bad that I’m excited about that? Haha, a supermarket sweep of Whole Foods would be nothing short of miraculous…

And I have the sense of humor of a 13-year-old boy, too. Nope, just can’t do popsicles. Or those really tall soft serve cones. Or listening to that whistle song on the radio without giggling.

Damn! I KNEW I was forgetting something…I missed the friggin’ giveaway! Grrr! :( Looks like I’ll just have to shell out the 7 bucks for the aminos next time I’m at Whole Paycheck instead of getting it for freebs! Lol

Yay for rosquillas! You’re right, that sounds SO much cooler than doughnuts! I bought a pan last year when blogworld went rosquiilla crazy…made one HELL of a recipe (if I do say so myself) and then into the oven drawer it went never to be seen from again…or actually I just moved it out the way the other day when I needed my muffin pan! haha! I should TOTALLY get that bad boy out and play around with it sometime soon! Ha! Sometime, yeah…as soon as I figure out how to fabricate about 24-48 more hours into my weekend! ;)

And omg, my town is FULL of stupermarkets!! It is utterly ridiculous the lengths I have to go to (or the amount of money I have to pay) to even find organic produce here! To say I hate Wal-Mart is SO much of an understatement…why do all the fat and unhealthy people get so save money, but I don’t? Huh?! Answer me THAT!

Ok, done with rant…I’m totally joining in on the #funfinds since OBVIOUSLY I completely understand your level of excitement! ;)
