[Super] Late Weekend Recap & WIAW

Another weekend here and gone so quickly (yes, I realize the next one is almost here already) But I have fallen into fall for sure!  The weather is a bit cooler, I’m finally finding my groove with sports, school and the other 12,398 things that demand our time (and yours, I’m sure).  We had a jam packed weekend, much like every other and I’m happy to say that I think I finished everything on my list except for my workout….waa waa.

Friday I arrived home to this beautiful sight!  One of my favorite companies  Quest Nutrition, sent me a box of their bars to sample and review.  So stay tuned for that!  Saturday just turned into a cluster-you-know-what so I deemed it into a rest day and planned on hitting the gym on Sunday. Sunday also turned out to be jam packed with cleaning, cooking. laundry etc. and since my husband got stuck at work on Saturday we decided to just have some family time.  Sometimes that happens, I’m just trying to go with the flow.  I felt like a slacker but you know what?  The world didn’t end because I didn’t work out one whole weekend.  I didn’t gain 10 pounds overnight, I didn’t lose all my strength, and my health didn’t suffer.  No big.  I could have probably fit it in if I reallllllly wanted to.  But to be honest, I didn’t reallllly want to.  So there.

What did we do?  Friday we made some amazing doughnuts, some homemade applesauce and some frozen yogurt pops!  I love cooking with my kids, especially my daughter.  It’s kind of our thing.  My husband is much better at the “pretending” stuff, I’m better at just doing stuff along with them.

Then I had some time with the girls, didn’t stay out too late and not too many cocktails for me…just vodka waters with my True Orange & True Grapefruit…tried to stay on track a little…also stashed some Quest bars in my purse for when I got hungry, which of course I did! We had a good time a bunch of laughs like usual…good for the soul!

We bought my little one a new bike.  I think he’d sleep on this bike if we’d let him!  It was pouring here all day yesterday and so he rode it in circles around the garage!

I hope everyone else had a great weekend and now for the good stuff…FOOD!
I cannot believe it is seriously October already!!  Jenn has another great theme for October..and like usual, my eat have absolutely nothing to do with that theme…I’m a mess, I swear.

I apologize in advance for the array of craptastic pics you are about to see…I’m contemplating asking for a better camera for Christmas.  I have a decent one, but my phone is just so damn convenient.  But that is probably because it’s attached to my hand at all times!  I’m hoping the camera on the iPhone5 is as good as I hear!

Breakfast was very quick, just this unglazed pumpkin doughnut I made last night, was glad to have them since I was in a rush after the morning debacle today, which you can read about on my Instagram or my Facebook page.  I also had 2 slice of cinnamon toast on Udi’s Gluten Free bread (my fav) before my workout but forgot to take a pic! I’ve been cutting out my beloved coconut oil since I’m trying to lean out so I’ve been giving it a quick spritz of non stick spray just to help the cinnamon & stevia stick on!

Forgot to take a pic of my whole next meal!  2 brown rice cakes (no almond butter today), 1/2 cup of nonfat cottage cheese and 1/2 a Peanut Butter & Jelly Questbar.

I’ve eaten this meal twice a day all week now!  It’s grilled chicken topped with 1 tbsp hummus, zucchini noodles with onions and green peppers sauteed in coconut oil and 1/2 cup of brown rice.

It was very difficult to do but I omitted my almond butter with my rice cakes today so I could have this instead!  A mixed greens salad with tomatoes and fresh mozzarella on top..I could eat this all day!

Next meal was the chicken meal again, I won’t bore you with repeating the pic.  Then for dinner I had 1 cup of turkey chili with no beans…I’m so happy it’s chili time again!

I’ve been having this before bed the past few nights and loving it.  1/2c nonfat cottage cheese with 3 or 4 egg whites scrambled with one wedge of Laughing Cow light cheese!
